QUALIFICATION DESCRIPTION

This qualification provides the knowledge component of the Apparel, Footwear and Leather Pathways of the Advanced Fashion and Textiles Apprenticeship Framework. Learners will complete this qualification with a concrete understanding of the following:

  • The legal requirements of employers and employees with regard to health, safety and employment law in the textile sector
  • The textile industry, including global textile production and trends, fibre types, and the general production processes of fibre and yarn manufacturing
  • How to managing quality standards in textile production

Optional units include: Weft Knitting, Warp Knitting and Lace, Weaving, and more
