Qualification:

This qualification is aimed at garment technologists, pattern and grading technologists, sample technicians, handcraft garment makers, and individuals whose role is expanding into new technical and managerial areas. It develops the technical skills needed within these areas and ensures that learners’ professional skills are recognised and valued throughout the sector. Learners will complete this qualification with a concrete understanding of the following:

• Health, safety and security at work
• The routine maintenance of tools and equipment, including how to recognise potential problems and deal with them accordingly
• How to maintain production quality when working with textiles, leather and materials
