Qualification:

This qualification has been specifically devised to provide learners with an introduction to developing personal creativity in an area of art, design or craft. Centres may specialise in one or more areas, and qualifications can stand-alone or be used to enrich current curriculums. Learners will complete this qualification with a comprehensive and full understanding of the following:

• Basic media and materials handling practice within a chosen 2D or 3D practical area of study
• The importance of planning and preparation, including research methods and developing skills and creativity using a variety of media, materials and techniques
• How to work on a brief in art and design
