Qualification:

For those learners interested in working in animal care, this qualification provides a practical introduction. Learners will gain work-related skills in the area of farm animal care, gain insight into core activities within the sector, and prepare for further training. Learners will complete this qualification with a concrete understanding of the following:

• How to assist with the care of animals, including relevant animal welfare legislation, minimising stress and injury to the animals, and keeping people and animals safe whilst working
• The principles of animal care, including monitoring the health of animals, providing feed and water, and workplace health and safety requirements
• Optional units include: Principles of Basic Preparation and Operation of a Tractor, Weigh Farm Animals, Promote and Maintain the Health and Well-Being of Animals, and more
