This qualification will help learners to develop the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.
On successful completion of this qualification, learners will be able to read simple messages including questions or requests for information on familiar subjects in the target language and produce a written response in the target language.
Understand and use basic words and phrases in familiar situations. Learners will be able to take part in simple interactions, applying the basic rules of pronunciation and employing appropriate and commonly used conventions. They will begin to develop an awareness of the cultural conventions in the target language.
The achievement of this qualification will prepare you for progression into further vocational training, both laterally depending upon your specific skill requirements and progression aspirations, but primarily vertically to a higher level requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding.
