QUALIFICATION DESCRIPTION

This qualification provides a practical introduction to the horticulture sector to support engagement, participation, achievement and progression for learners at Entry Level and Level 1. It offers important industry insight to help learners to make informed career decisions. Learners will complete this qualification with a concrete understanding of the following:

How to recognise parts of plants, including trees, shrubs, vegetables and fruits
Optional units include: Assist with the Maintenance and Repair of Hand Tools, Identification of Pests and Diseases, Introduction to Cultivating Plant Cuttings, and more.

PROGRESSION ROUTES: WHAT'S NEXT

The Awards and Certificates provide progression from Entry Level 2 to Level 1. The Level 1 qualification includes optional Level 2 units to provide stretch where appropriate and to encourage progression. Learners who complete this qualification can progress to the ABC Level 2 Awards and Certificates in Horticulture as well as the Level 2 Work-Based Diploma in Horticulture.
