QUALIFICATION DESCRIPTION

This qualification has been developed in collaboration with industry, providers and Lantra to help learners progress to higher levels of learning and ultimately employment. It offers important industry insight to help learners to make informed career decisions. Learners will complete this qualification with a concrete understanding of the following:

How to recognise parts of plants, including trees, shrubs, vegetables and fruits
Optional units include: Developing practical skills for maintaining plants, Plant flower bulbs for naturalisation or bedding, Prepare and plant an area, and more

PROGRESSION ROUTES: WHAT'S NEXT

Learners who complete this qualification can progress to Level 1 qualifications, which include optional Level 2 units to provide stretch where appropriate and to encourage progression. Learners can also progress through these qualifications onto the ABC Level 2 Awards and Certificates in Horticulture as well as the Level 2 Work-Based Diploma in Horticulture.
